Frequently Asked Questions

HackLBS is an annual event hosted by Entrepreneurship Club at London Business School. The event involves teams from various UK schools coming together to come up (hack) with creative solutions to a set of challenges. Sometimes a hackathon can be a very first step to starting a company, or sometimes it is just a good time.

No! Hackathon is about coming up with a solution to address a problem. While you should have an understanding of what is reasonable to propose (no time machines!) no coding is required in your solution.

Start by looking among friends and classmates you like to work with. If you don’t have a team by HackLBS – don’t worry! You will have some time to chat with other individual participants on Saturday morning to form teams.

We recommend 3 to 5 people.

Firstly, register as an individual here. We will connect you to your possible teammates from diverse backgrounds across London or you can also pre-decide your team. On 2nd March we will ask you to submit your finalized teams.

Laptop, a water bottle, anything that makes your productive, and a good attitude.

No. Just wear whatever makes you comfortable.

The event will be held on March 2nd-3rd 2024 on London Business School Campus, North Building.

After all the teams submit their solutions, a team of judges will rank the teams based on a predefined grading rubric (Understanding of the Problem, Feasibility, Viability, and Desirability of the Solution, and Overall Creativity & Presentation). Top teams from each challenge will present to the judges on Sunday and a winner will be chosen for each challenge.

Yes! For each challenge we will have a cash prize for the winning team!
